Dear African Music Lovers,
Roots! (Claire Jones and Shawna Hawk) is pleased to announce that African Music Nites is moving to a new location at Waid’s Haitian Cuisine and Lounge, 1212 E. Jefferson (near Seattle University). There will be no more shows at Dahlak Restaurant: the November 20 Mahonyera Mbira Ensemble performance has been postponed to December 4th – at Waid’s – and the November 27th Lambema show has been cancelled.
Please support us in our new home! Waid is happy to host us at his club, and we are thrilled to be moving there! Remember that we need your help and participation to keep the African Music Nite series going. Please donate at least $5 for each show and show your support for Waid’s by buying food and drink at the club. We will not be having a show every Sunday, so that each show we present will be a special one! Check our website regularly so you know what is happening.
