We’re excited about the new location of African Music Nites as of December: Waid’s Haitian Cuisine and Restaurant, 1212 E. Jefferson St. Here’s the lineup of shows:
December 4: Mahonyera Mbira Ensemble
Seattle’s own Mahonyera Mbira Ensemble performs traditional Shona music of Zimbabwe on three or four mbiras accompanied by hosho (gourd shakers) and vocals. This is music to dance to and trance to.
