December Calendar for African Music Nites

Hi all,
We’re excited about the new location of African Music Nites as of December: Waid’s Haitian Cuisine and Restaurant, 1212 E. Jefferson St. Here’s the lineup of shows:

December 4: Mahonyera Mbira Ensemble

December 11: Spirit of Ojah
World music from West Africa and America! The Spirit of Ojah Dance Band, led by legendary Ghanaian highlife drummer Roger Ocquaye, plays long harmonious waves of sound and rhythm inspiring people to get up and dance: jungle rhythm, soukous and highlife.

December 18: Northwest Artists Collective
Special show in collaboration with Roots! featuring master Guinean drummer/dancers Manimou Camara and Abdoulaye Sylla and more!
