Global Heat brings its high-energy fusion of Hip Hop, Jazz & African Beats to the Royal Room. Winner of the 2011 Jammin’ Challenge, Global Heat won a Seattle Next 50 grant to produce the wildly successful June 10 show The Roots of Hip Hop in Ancient Cultures, a collaboration of Hip Hop, African, and Brazilian performers. www.global-heat.com

Join Abdoulaye Sylla and Message From Guinea to celebrate the release of Abdoulaye’s new dance instruction DVD, La Guinee Faree. Featuring master artists from Guinea’s world-renowned national company, Les Ballets Africains, Message From Guinea brings to life celebratory dance and percussion pieces that represent the folkloric traditions of several different ethnic groups of West Africa. These Guinean artists light up the stage with a spirit of joy and a message of cultural unity that will bring you to your feet.
